Men make up approximately 20% of the patients seen by Dr. Stanley P. Gulin at Plastic Surgery Associates of Naples-Fort Myers. Both surgical and non-surgical procedures are available for men who want to look as good on the outside as they feel on the inside. Many of the most popular plastic surgery procedures have been refined so that they can be performed with minimal incisions and reduced down time.

A number of liposuction and body contouring procedures are available in the breast, chest, abdomen, and waist areas using ultrasonic tumescent liposuction (Lipo-Selection/VASER-Lipo). Using these procedures Dr. Gulin is able to remove excess fat from areas that are difficult to contour either by weight loss or exercise. Male breast reduction is usually performed with ultrasonic tumescent liposuction (Lipo-Selection/VASER – Lipo) alone, although a few men may need a small incision to remove breast tissue from underneath the nipple area. Read more about male breast reduction.
Abdominal contouring is usually accomplished by Dr. Gulin solely through liposuction or it may involve a low lying abdominal incision easily hidden by the bathing suit. Occasionally a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) of a limited nature may need to be performed in order to tighten the underlying muscles. Read more about tummy tuck (abdominoplasty).
A number of procedures, both surgical and non-surgical, are available to improve the face, eyes, brows, nose, and hairline. Dr. Gulin is often able to perform procedures in these areas with limited incisions without the obvious signs of a procedure or scarring. Correction of sagging skin or prominent facial folds is usually accomplished by a face-lift, short scar face-lift, a mid face-lift, or a neck lift. Dr. Gulin is able to correct sagging neck skin often only with incisions limited to the back of the ear or only under the chin. The turkey gobbler appearance in the central neck area can be directly corrected using a Z-shaped incision hidden under the chin. Sagging or angry looking brows are corrected by Dr. Gulin using a brow lift technique with incisions hidden in the hair.
Liposuction of the face and neck is often performed by Dr. Gulin to give better definition to the face and neck with better outlining of the jaw line and chin and neck structures.
Many men are able to have their hairline restored through hair transplantation techniques. Today a very natural appearing hairline is able to be produced through the use of single follicle hair grafts. Read more about hair transplantation.
Nasal reshaping (rhinoplasty) allows Dr. Gulin to reduce the nasal size while placing the nose in better proportion to the rest of the face. Often chin augmentation using a chin implant produces better balance between the chin and nose. Read more about nasal reshaping (rhinoplasty).
Soft tissue fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm, Sculptra, and fat transfer (injections) are used by Dr. Gulin to enhance your facial features and help fill in any lines or depressions in the face. Fat transfer (injection) is an excellent way of filling in facial depressions, which have occurred through natural aging or to change the contour of the face to a more proportioned look. Botox cosmetic and Dysport injections by Dr. Gulin can soften lines around the eyes and between the brows. This gives a younger appearance and often removes a stern, angry look caused by the sagging of the brows in the middle of the face. Forehead lines can be smoothed again giving a younger more restful appearance.
